Johan Kammerstad has hailed the quality of the All Abilities game as he looks to make it a hat-trick of Australian All Abilities Championship titles at the opening event of the 2023 G4D season.
The Australian All Abilities Championship @ the ISPS HANDA Australian Open is making its G4D Tour debut in its third edition, with Kommerstad having won both the previous editions in 2018 and 2019.
If he is to maintain his perfect record at Victoria Golf Club, the World Number Nine will have to beat six of the top seven in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) and he is delighted to see how rapidly the standard of All Abilities golf is improving.
"I think all guys can win if they have a good week, it’s a strong field," he said.
"We have got a lot more players attending the events as it has gotten wider, so that’s a good thing.
"The elite fields are getting much stronger. I’ve played it for maybe 20 years and it’s a huge difference now from back around 2000."
The 12-person field this week is teeing it up alongside 288 others as both the men's and women's ISPS HANDA Australian Opens also take place at the same time and Swede Kammerstad is delighted to be part of the golfing spectacular.
"I love it," he said. "The set-up is really good. Playing alongside girls and the boys, I love it and the courses are just beautiful every year."
