Tournament Format
Date: Thursday 5 May – Sunday 8 May 2022
Field: 156 Players
Format:
The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event.
The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 players (and those who tie for 65th place) will go forward to the third and fourth rounds.
In the event of a tie for the first place there will be a hole-by-hole play-off.

The Prize Presentation will be held on the 18th green upon the conclusion of play

It is vitally important to us to protect the health and wellbeing of all players, staff, volunteers and spectators attending PGA European Tour events (the “DP World Tour”) and, as such, entry to all DP World Tour events will be subject to strict acceptance of and adherence to our COVID-19 spectator code of conduct (the “Code of Conduct”) and, if applicable, the latest Government guidance. Masks & Social Distancing
The wearing of masks and social distancing are not mandatory, but members of the public are welcome to do so if they wish. We ask that you are respectful of the choices of others in this matter.

Event Hub
The Betfred British Masters Event Hub, is where you will find all the tournament information and updates, including the daily draws, course map, full event schedule and entertainment. Event Hub QR codes can be scanned to access all the information you will need and these QR codes will be displayed as you enter the tournament and within the Championship village and catering areas.

There will not be ATM’s onsite. This is a cashless event. Contactless payments accepted.

Parking
Travel By Car: The Belfry Hotel & Resort is well signposted on major road networks. Once spectators have left the motorway, they should follow the yellow AA event signage which will direct them to the FREE public car parking for Betfred British Masters. Here, Premium Experience customers will have an area reserved at the front of the public car park (CP3).
Please do not follow your sat nav to the main entrance as there will be no public access to The Belfry Hotel and Resort for spectators' vehicles.
Disabled Customers
There will be dedicated disabled spaces on site for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge. Wheelchair users should contact ticketing@europeantourgroup.com for further arrangements.
Taxi/Uber
Taxi and Uber drop off and collection will be at public car parking on A4091. There is strictly no Taxi/Uber drop off at The Belfry hotel and Resort for any ticket holders.
Dress Code
It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. Appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey. Blue denim are not permitted in the Clubhouse or within Hospitality.
Welcome Tent
The Welcome Tent is the main entrance to the Championship. Within the Welcome Tent there will be the following facilities:
- Ticket Checking
- Ticket Sales
- Ticket Collection
Spectator's Etiquette
- Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the Players in the group have played or holed out.
- Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella.
- Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.
- Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points.
- Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable.
- There is no dress code in public areas.
- Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed.
- Due to social distancing, spectators are prohibited from asking for player autographs.
- Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.
Course
Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.
Evacuation Procedure
If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.
PRO-AM
The Betfred British Masters Pro-Am takes place on Wednesday 4 May. Spectators will have a front row view of their favourite golfers.
Practice
The practice days prior to the event days are not open to the public. The event is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday.
The access point to the practice range is adjacent to the 10th Hole, please follow the signage to the Practice Range.
Putting green is located behind the Practice Range.
The short game area for pitching and bunker play is located behind the Practice Range.
Marshals
The Chief Marshal and team will be managing the Betfred British Masters volunteer programme. The Marshals are extremely influential in helping to ensure that play runs smoothly.
The purpose of a Marshal is to ensure that the competitors are able to compete under the best conditions.
Many of the marshals have volunteered at a number of other golf events across the country and have a good understanding of the appropriate golfing etiquette.
Volunteers are an essential element of the Championship and are identified with ‘Marshal’ & Village Host armbands.

A wide range of golf attire will also be available within The Belfry’s merchandise shop in the PGA Village and also within their existing Pro-Shop beside Sam’s Bar in the Clubhouse.
Water
We encourage you to bring your own reusable bottles as there will be a water station within both Championship Villages.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
No picnics / picnic hampers allowed.
Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted to be brought into the venue.

There is public catering located within both Brabazon & PGA Village areas offering a variety of food and drink.
All food & drink outlets will be cashless and contactless payments will be accepted.

NO SMOKING in the grandstands or viewing platforms. Alcohol will be permitted on the grandstands at this event. Spectators are kindly asked not to stand up on the stands during play.
A dedicated wheelchair viewing roped off area will be positioned beside the 18th grandstand, and beside the 1st tee.
Additional Seating
There are seating areas located in the Championship Village surrounding the food outlets, big screen, and exhibitions.

There are digital leaderboards on 4, 6, 10, 14, 16 and 17. Big Screens in PGA & Brabazon Villages
Championship Village
The PGA & Brabazon Villages are where it’s all happening off the golf course and where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will also be a Giant TV screen so there is no need to miss any of the golf. There will be fun activities for the whole family, retail units and food and drink outlets ensuring that the golf course is not the only place where the action is happening.
Charity
The Official Charity for the Championship this year is Prostate Cancer UK, and they will be running the Mega Putt activation within the PGA Village.
Inclement Weather
Observe the leaderboards and big screens throughout the golf course for weather warning signs that will appear prior to inclement weather moving into the area. Spectators are advised to take precautions PRIOR to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following:
Open areas, Hilltops or high places, Isolated trees, Golf buggies and Wire fences
Clothing and What to Wear
It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery and therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey.
Blue denim are not permitted in the Clubhouse or within Hospitality.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted in any structure, including outdoor balconies & viewing platforms.
WI-FI
Free Wi-Fi is available for spectators throughout the Betfred British Masters site. The main hotspots are situated in the PGA & Brabazon Villages.
The Use of Mobile Phones
The use of mobile phones is permitted but restricted to dedicated areas only, where event signage will refer to them as “mobile phone zones”. Only in these dedicated areas can calls be made or received, however phones must remain on silent at all times.
The use of any cameras, computers and other electronic equipment at the Tournament Thursday to Sunday is not permitted other than with the proper accreditation. Cameras are allowed during the Pro Am on Wednesday.
Making or distributing broadcasts, commentary, news reports, data, results or statistics by any means in any format or media including any such by mobile phone or other wireless device is not permitted.
Cameras - Cameras are permitted ONLY on Pro Am Day – Wednesday. Cameras are NOT permitted on Match Days – Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although mobile phones are permitted on all five days of the event, the use of the camera facility is as per the above.

There will be two Betfred bookmaker facilities on site, one in each of the PGA & Brabazon villages.

Are wheelchairs allowed on site at the Championship?
Wheelchairs and other motorised chairs are allowed on the tournament grounds however we encourage you to use Event Mobility should you require to use them. Golf carts are not permitted.
A dedicated wheelchair roped off viewing area, will be positioned beside the 18th and beside the 1st tee.
Accessible toilet facilities are located in the public catering area in the PGA & Brabazon Villages and within The Belfry Sam’s Bar near to the 1 tee.
Event Mobility Charitable Incorporated Organisation
Event Mobility will be providing a number of electric scooters (£30) and manual wheelchairs (£15) for hire by the elderly or disabled. The facility is located in Car Park 2 (Accessible Car Park available here and must be pre-booked) with attendants on hand to show you how to use the vehicles. Car Parking: Designated parking for Blue Badge holders is located within Car Park 2.

Is there a Public Crèche?
There will not be a public crèche at this event.
There is a baby changing facility within the disabled toilet at the public village and within the toilet facilities within Sam’s Bar beside The Belfry Clubhouse Pro-Shop.
Can I bring a child’s buggy/pushchair?
Yes you can. However please be aware of uneven terrain. Children should always be accompanied by an adult.
The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury.
Are dogs permitted to the course?
Dogs are not permitted on the course with the exception of trained assistance guide dogs, and we respectfully suggest that you do not leave your pet in the car.
Information Centre
The Information Centre is located in the PGA Village.
Familiarise yourself with the location of First Aid stations and refreshment areas.
On entry to the venue look for a map board, this will help you find exits, key facilities and provide other key information.
Medical First Aid
Full medical and first aid facility is located in the Brabazon Village adjacent to the 10th fairway. Should you require medical assistance whilst out on course, please ask a marshal or event official who can radio for assistance.
Lost Property
Lost property that has been found can be handed in to the nearest marshal, volunteer, event official and they will be stored within the Information tent in the PGA Village during the day. All items will be delivered to the Championship Office at the end of each day. The Championship Office is located at the rear of the 1st tee tent.
Left Luggage
There will not be a left luggage facility at the event.
Can I bring a bag / rucksack?
Bags and rucksacks are permitted at the Championship and there are no restrictions on size. For your safety, security bag searches may be in operation on entry.
Bicycles
Bicycle parking will be available at the front of the Public Car Park. Bicycles are left at your own risk. Please provide your own lock.

DP World Tour needs enthusiastic volunteers aged 18 and over to help with various aspects of the event. Not only will you be upfront and close to your favourite golfers, but you will also gain valuable skills and experience.
