Jax Jones, the GRAMMY®-nominated producer, DJ, and record label executive, will rock the BMW PGA Championship when he brings his genre-defying DJ set to the Showstage once more after play wraps up on Saturday September 16 in the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2023 DP World Tour season.
The BMW PGA Championship has for many years been a key date in the English sport and social calendar, with its mix of world-class competitive golf action, globally-renowned music acts, Celebrity Pro-Am and a buzzing Spectator Village from September 12-17.
Jax Jones is the first global music act to be announced for the 2023 BMW PGA Championship and has recently dropped a contagious, high-energy new single Whistle, featuring vocals from 2023 BRIT nominee Calum Scott.
With a Sunday headline act to be announced soon, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now to avoid disappointment, with the Green on 18 Premium Experience already sold out for Friday and the new elevated ticket option, Ticket+, sold out for Saturday and Sunday.
The London-born artist has become a mainstay in modern British music and continues to create genre-defying music for both the charts and specialist dance scene, working and collaborating with artists including Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Bebe Rexha, Diana Ross, Joel Corry, Mark Ronson, Mabel, Years and Years, Martin Solveig, RAYE and Stefflon Don.
His last album, Snacks, was the U.K.’s best-selling dance album of 2019 and 2020, and he has amassed over 60 million single sales and more than eight billion combined global streams.
He rose to fame in 2014 by featuring in Duke Dumont’s hit single “I Got U” before following up with his own breakthrough singles “You Don’t Know Me” featuring Raye, and “Instruction” featuring Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
“We are delighted Jax Jones is returning to lead our music line-up for this year’s BMW PGA Championship,” said Kit Gartrell, the DP World Tour’s Championship Director for the prestigious event.
“Jax Jones brings an incredible party atmosphere to the Saturday night at Wentworth Club with his unique style of dance music, and we are looking forward to welcoming him back, along with more exciting acts to be announced in the coming weeks.”
In the past five years alone, the likes of Feeder, Clean Bandit, Rudimental, Anne-Marie, Kaiser Chiefs, Mike and the Mechanics, Simple Minds and others have rocked the stage at Wentworth.
Rory McIlroy will join defending champion and fellow Major winner Shane Lowry in the field at the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2023 season, where the world class action inside the ropes will be complemented by live entertainment on the Showstage and an unrivalled atmosphere in the vibrant Spectator Village.
The BMW PGA Championship Festival of Golf takes place less than an hour from central London, attracting more than 100,000 spectators. The exciting week will begin with G4D Tour @ BMW PGA Championship, which will see some of the best golfers with disabilities battle it out for the penultimate G4D Tour title of the season at the prestigious venue.
That is followed by the star-studded Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am which brings together global celebrities and some of golf’s most famous players in a fun-filled curtain raiser to the main event, the BMW PGA Championship, which tees off on Thursday September 14.
BMW group owners will once again receive preferred parking benefits, while park & ride and shuttle services from local train stations will be available free of charge to all spectators.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now to avoid disappointment, with the Green on 18 Premium Experience already sold out for Friday and the new elevated ticket option, Ticket+, sold out for Saturday and Sunday.
