Information for spectators to the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club with access requirements.

WELCOME

In July 2024, the Genesis Scottish Open will return to The Renaissance Club.  

The Genesis Scottish Open aims to provide an enjoyable spectator experience for all individuals. If you have any queries or require any specific assistance, please contact us on email: Eventinfo@europeantourgroup.com

This document will be updated from time to time as available facilities and operational details are confirmed. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, please check back closer to the Championship or contact our Event Information email above.

TICKETING POLICY

The DP World Tour enjoys welcoming all spectators to its events and to help persons with accessibility needs to attend and enjoy the Genesis Scottish Open, the following ticketing policies are in place:

  1. CARER - Ticket holders who require a carer to assist them are entitled to receive one free carer ticket to the event. This complimentary carer ticket can only be ordered online following the purchase of the ticket. The carer ticket will be identified on the scanner at time of entry.
  2. PARKING - There will be dedicated accessible parking on site at Car Park 2 for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge. To request accessible parking please contact: ticketing@europeantourgroup.com Proof of blue badge or similar is required in advance along with car registration. A digital pass will be added to the account a week prior to the event.

Both of the above are subject to availability.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

All parking is complimentary at this event and the accessibility parking is a short distance from the main public entrance. Please present your pre-booked Car Park 2 pass and Blue Badge on arrival, one of our attendants will direct you to the area reserved for Accessible Parking.

TAXI DROP OFF FOR BLUE BADGE HOLDERS

Accessible taxi drop off within Car Park 2 will only be permitted on presentation of a Blue Badge Pass.

TICKET OFFICE

There will be a Ticket Office located at the main public entrance to the Genesis Scottish Open. 

The route up to the Ticket Office from Accessible Parking CP2 will consist of fairly-level grass terrain or hard standing.

ENTRANCE TENT & SECURITY CHECK

Once you arrive at the venue, please proceed to the Entry Gates where your tickets will be scanned, and a security check will take place. 

This security check will include a bag search to check for prohibited items. 

The terrain leading to the Entrance Arch will be a mixture of both hard-standing and flat grass areas. The Entrance Tent is a hard-floored structure with ramped access and natural lighting.

WHEELCHAIR / MOTORISED CHAIR ACCESS

Privately owned wheelchairs and other motorised chairs are allowed on the tournament grounds however we encourage you to use Event Mobility (see below).  Golf carts are not permitted.  

Please note that liability of using mobility scooters will remain with the user and this should be considered when accessing areas of the golf course.

EVENT MOBILITY

Event Mobility will be providing electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs for hire at this event for the use of mobility impaired, disabled and elderly visitors.

They will be located at the top of Car Park 2, nearest to the event entrance and Fan Zone.

Event Mobility is a charity and kindly asks for a donation of £35 for using electric scooters and £15 for the manual wheelchairs.

Online bookings must be made at least 2 days before the event.

Bookings cannot be made during the event. If there is spare equipment available at the event it is offered on a first come, first served basis only.

DEDICATED ACCESSIBILITY BUGGY

The Genesis Scottish Open has a dedicated accessibility (6-seater) buggy and driver. This service is only for the less abled and or elderly who have difficulty walking long distances. It is a limited, on request service and can take you from the Event Mobility tent which is located near to the entrance of the venue and drop off at the following locations.

SPECTATOR VIEWING AREAS

Accessible spectator viewing is available in dedicated locations around the course from behind the rope line. Please take care on rough and sloping ground and be aware that some areas may become soft and/or slippery in wet conditions. Marshals are briefed to ask the crowd to allow spectators with an impairment to access the front of the rope line where possible.

Access will be on a first come first served basis and also be available to accompanying carers (max of one). These wheelchair viewing areas can become congested especially on Championship Days, but we aim to accommodate as best we can. Please ask a marshal for assistance, if required.

ACCESSIBLE TOILET FACILITIES

Toilet and accessible facilities will be available at various points around the course.  Each accessible toilet contains a toilet and sink and fold down baby changing table to allow complete privacy. 

Locations of all toilet facilities will be shown on the spectator map once published.

FOOD & BEVERAGE FACILITIES

Catering facilities will be available on the course, with the main facilities located in the FANZONE which will be near the main public entrance. The locations of all catering facilities will be shown on the spectator map once published.

The FANZONE has seating areas on grass terrain.

The 2024 Genesis Scottish Open food and beverage offerings will be from mobile food units. These units will have the capacity to cater for wheelchair users. Please ask a member of staff if you require assistance accessing the counter.

THE GENESIS SCOTTISH OPEN SHOP

The Genesis Scottish Open Shop will be located within the FANZONE which is on flat grass terrain. 

The flooring within The Shop is carpet and the area is well lit. On entry to The Shop there will be both step and ramp access while The Shop is on one level with good access around all displays.

FAN ZONE ACTIVITIES

More information on the Sessions Stage and full range of activities in the FANZONE can be found here.

Located in the heart of the FANZONE, The Stage will host a diverse programme of entertainment daily from Thursday to Sunday.

Floor Staff are available to assist customers if required. Wheelchair accessible fitting rooms are available in The Shop.

HOSPITALITY

The Hospitality access at the Genesis Scottish Open also accommodates a lift access.

SUNFLOWER LANYARDS

We recognise sunflower lanyards for people who have a hidden disability that might not be visible to see. They are for people who want to let us know that they may need some extra help, time or assistance. When you wear your sunflower lanyard, a member of staff may ask you if there is anything we can do to help you.

WHAT IS A HIDDEN DISABILITY?

A hidden disability is a disability that may not be immediately obvious. 

This could be, for example:

  • Sensory loss, including difficulty seeing or hearing
  • A physical disability that may not be obvious
  • Autism
  • A learning disability
  • Anxiety or any other mental health condition

There is no qualifying list of hidden disabilities. If you have a hidden disability and feel that you would benefit from wearing a sunflower lanyard, please do.

INFORMATION FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED SPECTATORS

We welcome trained assistance dogs. Please note that they must be always kept on a lead.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES

In the case of an emergency evacuation, all visitors to the Genesis Scottish Open will be led to localised Rendezvous Points around the course which you will be directed to by a Steward or Marshal. 

In the case of a Full Course Evacuation, Security Scotland security guards will assist Marshals and direct you to the nearest Entry/Exit or Assembly Point Area. If you have any questions on the above, please don’t hesitate to call us on +44(0)1344 840499 daily between 09:00 and 17:00.
